NEW YORK, NEW YORK – A number of Most Valuable Player awards were presented on this date; Ryne Sandberg (1984), Ken Caminitti (1996), Larry Walker (1997), Bob Welch (1990), Bob Gibson (1968).

It's not unusual for winners to be repeaters. The leader of the pack is Barry Bonds, by far. Tainted MVP's or not, Bonds' 7 is more than twice as many as anyone else.
